Students from EARTH University… a class of 20 students from EARTH University. This forest is 5 1/2 years old. Prof. German Obando, Carlos Sandi and Rolando led the group. This is part of RTT/Superior Nut Co.’s environmental education program.
Teachers from Cutler Middle School in Mystic Connecticut…
RTT forest models are new forest designs, mixtures of tree species for biological stability in the face of climate change. Below, Elsie Stapf, a teacher in the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT stands next to a valuable 14-month old cedar tree in one of the RTT forests. RTT forests are managed for both efficient CO2 capture and for farmer income. Only when the farmer is satisfied with income from the forest will the forest be sustainable for long-term, 100-yr+ carbon storage. Hotchkiss has two forests combined with annual lectures to students in our education program.
